From humble beginnings to modern air conditioned studios fit for the 21st century, Radio North Tees has always strived to provide an interesting and eclectical mix of music and information for the patients, staff and visitors to the University Hospital of North Tees.
Many presenters have come and gone over the years, and as you can imagine, the equipment back then was a lot different to that used today.
Radio North Tees started life as a feasibility study by students of Stockton & Billingham Sixth Form College in 1975, resulting in North Tees General Radio, broadcasting by February 1976.
Our studios have also undergone numerous refits over the years. We have recently embarked on a major refurbishment programme of our complex. Check back for regualr updates and photographs on this.
We continue to broadcast 24 hours a day, 365 days a year on Audio Channel One of the Hospedia Bedside Entertainment System (formerly PatientLine), as well as throughout various parts of the hospital complex.
